About Rushere Community Hospital
We are a Non-Government Organisation (NGO), which is owned by the community who are represented by a Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors. The hospital is Health Sub-District Headquarters and oversees twelve government health units in the area, within a 70 mile radius of Rushere.
The hospital has a Constitution and a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Uganda.
The Hospital Board of Directors are:
- Hon. Mary Mugyenyi (Chairperson)
- Professor Kayanja , Vice Chancellor Mbarara University of Science and Technology
- Mr. Kafuniza Emmanuel
- Mr. Rutehenda Robert
- Mrs. Kantarama Emeribe, Principal Hospital Administrator Mulago Hospital
Government representatives include:
- Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health
- The Chief Administrative Officer - Kiruhura District
- The District Health Officer - Kiruhura District
- The Chairperson District Health Committee
In addition, Friends of Rushere Hospital Committee work together to support the hospital. They meet every year in the UK.
